Is this guidance available online?
Albert, we will be sending out links and PDFs to all of the documents referenced with the recording of the webinar.
How do you use the KRA language pieces in 3rd grade?
Are K teachers readily using the KRA as an opportunity to understand how they need to support kids during these times, or do the states have to do any intentional messaging so that K teachers don’t see this as something to check-off during these chaotic times?
JOhns Hopkins University -Center for Technology in Education provides the tech and PD support to the states
How will the date inform the PreK experience that children had?
Hi All, this has been a great webinar! My name is Bobby Moore and I am the project manager of the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) at Johns Hopkins University, Center for Technology in Education. If interested in learning more about KRA related technology or professional development, you can reach me at email@example.com.
We at JHU are pleased to support both South Carolina and Ohio to implement the KRA. A current consideration regarding the implementation is the appropriate and effective use of data. We appreciate the efforts by both states to continue to support the KRA as a valuable source of information about incoming kindergartners. It is important more than ever.
Will there be a generalized look at data to determine which skills need additional emphasis? Are their core/focus/power skills that we are beginning to see will need that extra support and emphasis?

MN is also working on a resource that will include specific strategies and stories to collect information via hybrid and distanced learning.
Thank you, keep the resources coming! We will include in our post-webinar email
Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction just released guidance related to early learning in Reopening Washington Schools related to remote or in-person early learning in school districts. WA will implement the full version of WaKIDS. We advise that data should be considered in a formative way.
Are states helping educators focus on social-emotional well-being in administering and using KRAs? That might be a pressing concerns, especially in communities of color that are disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
IF a state has a response to Albert’s comment, please let me know if you would like to share. Thanks!
Can SC share their guidance doc?
In Colorado, we have been working with the authors/vendors of each approved tool to provide information on their assessment.
Is there a link to all of the KRA assessments?
We will send out the links to information about the assessments with the recording
GG - will you be sending out the research you mentioned at the very beginning of the session? I think it was the 3rd link on the slide

Hello Albert I cannot speak on behalf of our instructional team but on behalf of the office of assessment we still are emphasizing the importance of social domains, we still include it in our PD. We just will not test this year.
Our instructional offices may have other supports in place as well.
Laura it will be shared with you!
Virginia has placed an emphasis on assessing SEL for PK-12. The Child Behavior Rating Scale is our KRA measure for self-regulation and social skills (we also assess literacy and mathematics). The Virginia Readiness Kindergarten Program (VKRP) team has also added well-being items this year (where teachers can flag student concerns) in response to COVID-19 and is offering a PreK pilot for all interested programs. Our KRA is a state mandate.
Maryland will not be administering the KRA this year as all school systems are now virtual through the 1st quarter or semester.
Given that some states are not administering the KRA this year, what direction are states giving to districts to gauge learning loss for their incoming Kinders?
Even though we are not administering the KRA, teachers still will use formative and district assessment to know the progress of their students. I think measuring learning loss would be difficult as the KRA is a snapshot and not measuring growth or loss.
Thank you to Everyone!
Thank you! Such valuable information.
Thank you for this opportunity!
